Disney Genie is a new digital service – which is completely free – that has been built into the My Disney Experience and Disneyland Apps to help guests create a personalized itinerary for a visit to any theme park. Disney Genie replaces the retiring FastPass, FastPass+, and Disney MaxPass services.

Disney Genie is completely free while Disney Genie+ costs $15 per ticket per day at Walt Disney World Resort ($20 at Disneyland Resort).

Disney Genie+ allows you to choose what time you want to visit an attraction by using the Lightening Lane entrance, which is the new FastPass+. Choose wisely because you can only make one selection at a time throughout the day. If guests have Park Hopper tickets, they can still use the service in other parks. Genie+ also includes Disney audio, photos, augmented reality lenses for Walt Disney Resort, and an abundance of Disney PhotoPass downloads at Disneyland Resort, so you can lock in those memories.

If you’re planning to visit popular attractions not included with Disney Genie+, you will need to pay an extra fee to use the Lightening Lanes.

The rides that aren’t included are Rise of the Resistance, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and Radiator Springs Racers. The Lightening Lanes will only allow guests to choose two attractions a day and the pricing varies depending on the date.
