Spring Break: What to Do with Your Week Off

Your well-deserved mid-semester break is just around the corner, and you obviously need something — or somethings — to do. Ditch your responsibilities and spend your spring break in Florida’s hot spot for fun: Orlando.

Not sure how to spend your time off in town? Here’s a guide to figuring out what fun lies in store for you in Orlando this spring break.

Go Park Hopping

Most people come to Orlando for one reason, and that reason is what dubbed us the theme park capital of the world. Each park is just a hop, skip, and jump away from each other, so why not take advantage and park hop?

Spring break at Universal

Spring has sprung, which means there’s no better time than now to visit our theme parks. Enjoy beautiful weather and seasonal events at their peak when you visit during spring.

You have seven days to spring into action, so take it one day at a time. Whether you’re a Universal Orlando fan, a SeaWorld lover, or a Disney World enthusiast — or all three — the time is prime for all things thrilling.

Cool Off at a Water Park

Although winters in Florida aren’t as harsh as they are elsewhere, they still rob us of our quality time in the water. This spring break, reclaim your right to make a splash at one of Orlando’s many water parks.

Spring break at a waterpark

If you’re park hopping, hop over to one of their water parks. You have Universal’s Volcano Bay, SeaWorld’s Aquatica and Discovery Cove, and Disney’s Blizzard Beach to play with all spring break long.

Looking for watery fun under the sun outside of our theme parks? Head over to Island H2O in Kissimmee, the Orlando Watersports Complex, or Nona Adventure Park in Lake Nona.

Dine at Restaurants You Won’t Find Back Home

When you’re traveling somewhere new, the last thing you want to do is eat food you can get back home. Orlando is brimming with bites you can’t find anywhere else. The best part is there are dozens near all the spring break fun.

spring break dining

Staying at an I-Drive hotel like any of our three Rosen Inns puts you at the forefront of some of Orlando’s best eateries. Taverna Opa brings the greatest Greek goodies coupled with nightly entertainment to International Drive. Café Tu Tu Tango combines captivating art with tantalizing tastes and makes for an ideal spring dining option.

Adults can have a spring break too! If you’re in the mood for dinner and a show, head over to Mango’s Tropical Café and enjoy fruity drinks, exotic foods, and exciting late-night performances.

Again, most people come to Orlando for its theme parks. If you have Universal plans this spring break, make it an easy trip and dine on site. Enjoy delectable dinner and dessert all in one at The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen at CityWalk.

Go-Karting: Fast Thrills Outside the Parks

Fulfill your need for speed and try go-karting in Orlando. Orlando has plenty of places where you can test your NASCAR driving skills.

Located near Lake Nona on Cosmonaut Boulevard is Orlando Kart Center, an outdoor go-kart center with an 8- to 10-mile-long tracks. This place is the only go-kart center in Orlando to provide double seating, so parents who want their young ones to have an exciting spring break can do so together.

spring break go-karting

If you want to beat the Florida heat, Orlando has three other go-karting options located indoors. One not too far from our hotels is K1 Speed, which has electric go-karts, races for adults and kids, and a four-lane bowling alley.

Andretti Indoor Karting & Games on Universal Boulevard offers an exciting indoor go-karting experience, as well as a fun arcade with hundreds of unique games. You can also head over to Florida’s largest indoor attraction, Dezerland Park, which is home to the state’s longest and fastest indoor go-kart track. There are races for both juniors and adults, so you can have fun no matter how old you are.

Fun Spot is right around the corner from Orlando’s prime entertainment, and it also has an exciting outdoor go-kart racetrack. Fun is available for kids and adults if you’re at least 54 inches tall or 36 inches tall and with an adult.

Beat an Escape Room

It’s always fun watching those movies where people fail to escape a dangerous situation and saying to yourself, “I could’ve done that!” Well now, you can put those skills to the test with a live-action escape room.

Orlando’s entertainment district is crawling with a number of different escape rooms.

The Escape Game, America’s Escape Game, Lockbusters Escape Game, Grand Escape Rooms, The Bureau Adventure Games, and The Escape Effect are just a few of the many escape rooms along the I-Drive corridor, which is perfectly convenient during your stay at any of our Rosen Inns.

Enjoy Fun Under the Sun at Our Rosen Inns

Our Rosen Inns are at the center of all of Orlando’s springtime fun. I-Drive’s festivities are just footsteps or a short drive away from our hotels. When you come back tired after a long day of having fun, sit back, relax, and enjoy the inn’s fun-filled amenities from our relaxing swimming pools to our exciting video game arcade rooms.
